An Iowa City pavement construction project in a private alley located behind the 100 block of Iowa Avenue will have a temporary impact on parking in the area, while also relocating some dumpsters streetside for two weeks beginning Monday.
During construction, no public access will be allowed in the alleyway. Personnel will be onsite to ensure pedestrian safety as work vehicles enter and exit the area.
Dumpsters normally stored in the non-public alley will be moved to parking spaces along the 10 block of South Clinton Street, the 100 block of Iowa Avenue, and the 10 block of South Dubuque Street. The dumpsters are not for public use and will be fenced-off and locked. Designated parking spaces will be reserved for construction crews on Iowa Avenue during the project.
