An Iowa City woman was arrested on a warrant stemming from an alleged assault incident last month.

Police say that just after 2am July 23rd, a woman reported being assaulted in the area of Burlington and Clinton Streets by multiple individuals. She was able to provide the name of one of the alleged assailants and an address where she was likely headed.

Police located the suspect, 27-year-old Shonda House of Broadway Street, at the location identified by the victim.  The assault was captured on street camera video and reportedly shows House wearing the same clothes when officers found her.  The video allegedly shows House and other suspects attacking the victim and striking her repeatedly.  The victim suffered a cut lip that needed stitches.

A warrant was issued for House’s arrest on Wednesday; she was booked at the Johnson County Jail early Thursday morning. She was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted.
