An Iowa City man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a loaded gun at a motorist.

Police say the incident occurred Monday afternoon just before 4:30 at the intersection of East Burlington and Dodge streets.  30-year-old Michael Preslicka of Briar Drive allegedly pointed Smith and Wesson handgun out of the window of his Chevy Malibu. The gun was reportedly pointed at the victim as they were driving in the car behind Preslicka.

A subsequent stop on Preslicka’s vehicle allegedly found the gun on the passenger floorboard. Police also reportedly found a bag belonging to Preslicka that contained loaded magazines, methamphetamines, marijuana, and used drug pipes. He also allegedly had an eight inch knife, sheathed on his hip.

Preslicka faces a number of charges, including Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with the use or display of a Weapon, two counts of Carrying Weapons, two Controlled Substances violations, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to over 11 years in prison.
