An Iowa City woman was charged with her second OWI after allegedly crashing into a stop sign and utility pole on the southeast side of the city.

Police were dispatched to Sioux Avenue Sunday at approximately 8:45pm for a report of a vehicle that had crashed.  Upon arrival, 27-year-old Lucy Lopez Corea was allegedly unable to provide a proof of insurance. She also reportedly was swaying while standing and had difficulty maintaining her balance.

After performing poorly on field testing, she provided a PBT showing her blood-alcohol level at .187 percent.  Lopez Corea then reportedly refused a Datamaster.

She was charged with 2nd offense OWI, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to two years if convicted.
