An Iowa City man has been arrested after allegedly trying to break into a storage shed behind a house.

Police reportedly found Louis Church of Shelter House trying to get into the shed on the 300 block of Douglass Court at around 5pm Sunday.  When confronted, Church allegedly admitted he didn’t know who owned the property and was trying to get into the shed but found it locked.

A search incident to arrest reportedly found a set of bolt cutters, a quantity of marijuana, and a pipe used for smoking the drug.

Church was taken to the Johnson County Jail, where he awaits charges of attempted burglary, possession of burglar’s tools, marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, Church could be sentenced to over six years in prison.
