Arraignment is set for Monday for an Iowa City man accused of sending pornographic videos to minors.

18-year-old Jonathan Kiasosa of Indigo Drive faces three counts of Dissemination and Exhibition of Obscene Material to Minors.

Iowa City Police say the incident occurred on the afternoon of March 15th, when Kiasosa allegedly used Instagram to send a pornographic video to a 17-year-old and two 14-year-olds.  The video was of a male pleasuring himself to completion and making a lewd comment about a female body part over and over.

None of the three victims liked the video. The 17-year old communicated that to Kiasosa. One of the 14-year-olds blocked his Instagram account, while the other had a brief communication with Kiasosa over Instagram making it clear she did not like the video.

Investigators obtained a search warrant from Instagram and were able to obtain the video and the email address of the account holder.

A search warrant was executed at Kiasosa’s residence. His phone was seized, and the video and chats with the victims were recovered.  Evidence reportedly supported investigators’ conclusion that the Instagram account from which the video was sent belongs to Kiasosa, and that he used his phone to send it to the victims.

Monday’s arraignment is set for 1:30pm at the Johnson County Courthouse. If convicted on all three charges, Kiasosa faces a maximum of three years in jail.
