A North Liberty woman faces charges that she hit her boyfriend with a lamp, then poured bleach on him.

North Liberty Police were called to a trailer in the Holiday Lodge manufactured housing community just before 3:00 last Friday morning for a fight in progress. The alleged victim reported having an altercation with his girlfriend, with whom he has lived for 16 years. The man said the girlfriend, identified as 41-year-old Jessica Jiles, had hit him in the back and face with the base of a lamp. The man’s injuries were still bleeding when police arrived.

The man also claimed Jiles had dumped bleach on his face and hit him in the ribs.

Jiles fled the scene before officers could arrive. She was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 2:45 Tuesday morning and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury. If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in jail.
