UIHC nursing excellence recognized with elite 5th Magnet Recognition Program designation

University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics has once again been honored with a prestigious designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program®.

According to a release from the UIHC, by receiving their fifth consecutive Magnet® designation, they join approximately 47 other organizations as the top Magnet® hospitals in the country who have achieved five or more designations.

The UIHC was the first hospital in Iowa and the first in the Big Ten to receive the designation in 2004, and are now the first hospital in those two groups to receive designation five consecutive times.

Kim Hunter is Interim CEO and chief nurse executive at the UI Hospitals & Clinics, and interim associate vice president at UI Health Care. In the release, she said, “Our nurses are experts in their field and serve our teams, patients, and communities with excellence in compassion. I could not be prouder of our success.”
