Regina and Williamsburg are state softball champions.
The two teams won their respective classes at the state tournament in Fort Dodge on Friday.
Regina won its second consecutive Class 2A championship with a 6-2 win over Van Meter. The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, but the Regals exploded for 6 runs in the 3rd and held on for the win.
Williamsburg won its first-ever state softball title in the Class 3A championship game with a 4-0 shutout of Davenport Assumption. The Raiders scored two runs each in the 1st and 3rd innings.
