The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is adding a new four-legged officer.
Crisis Canine Rudy is currently in training to become a nationally certified therapy dog. The sheriff’s office says Officer Rudy will provide a wide variety of services to first responders and the community including: staff wellness and peer support, criminal investigation witness/victim interviews, critical or traumatic incident support, and community engagement.
Rudy is a one-year-old, mixed breed who came to the sheriff’s office from Forever Home Dog Rescue organization. He will be partnered with Detective Sergeant Alissa Schuerer.
Rudy will be making appearances at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office booth at next week’s Johnson County Fair. You can also see his photo under this story on the KCJJ app and at 1630KCJJ.com.
