Iowa City Police say they’ve charged a woman who called them to her home, became unsatisfied with their efforts, then called 9-1-1 again to request different police officers.
Authorities say 34-year-old Janetta Walker called 9-1-1 from her South Van Buren Street apartment at 6:45pm on July 6th, but only provided the address. Arriving officers say Walker demanded that her roommate be removed from the apartment for being rude and disrespectful. Police claim Walker has contacted them for similar situations in the past and has been told they cannot remove someone from their own residence against their will.
As police were again explaining the situation, Walker reportedly called 9-1-1- again in front of them and demanded dispatchers send different officers.
Walker is now charged with Making a False Report to 9-1-1. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 30 days in jail. Trial is set for September 19th.
