A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested on a warrant stemming from a big-screen TV theft from last month.

Police say 37-year-old Michael Vandee of N Street SW was at the Coralville Lowe’s Home Improvement Store the afternoon of June 27th.  While in the parking lot, he allegedly took a roll cover off the back of a pickup truck  and opened the tailgate.  He then reportedly cut the ratchet strap and took a 65-inch TV from the truck bed and dragged it into his Chevy Equinox.

Once identified as the suspect, a warrant was issued for Vandee’s arrest July 6th.  He was taken into custody Sunday afternoon and faces a charge of 3rd degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, a Class D Felony as it is his second offense. If convicted on the charge, Vandee could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
