A Davenport woman has been charged after police alleged she stole over $1000 in merchandise from a Coralville department store.

38-year-old Aimee Brasch of West 52nd Street was reportedly at Theisen’s the afternoon of June 7th.  According to the police report, she and another unidentified suspect were seen by staff, and captured on closed circuit surveillance footage, as they allegedly worked in concert to select items, put them in a shopping cart, and leave the store without any attempt to pay for them.

Store officials estimate the value of the items taken came to nearly $1300.

A warrant was issued for Brasch’s arrest on June 23rd; she was taken into custody and charged with 3rd degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.  She was released on her own recognizance and a preliminary hearing was waived.

If convicted on the charge, Brasch could be sentenced to up to two years in jail.
