The owner of the gun used in the Clock Tower parking ramp shooting last month has been arrested.

According to the police report, 22-year-old Marquel Poole was in possession of a firearm on the night of May 13th, and was seen on video transferring that firearm to another individual, believed to be 22-year-old Alexander Voudhivong of Iowa City. Voudhivong then reportedly shot a man multiple times in the parking ramp and fled the scene, changing clothes nearby in an attempt to disguise himself before leaving the area.

Poole is a convicted felon and as such is prohibited from possessing dangerous weapons.

Investigators now say 24-year-old Narada Poole Jr. of West Des Moines was the owner of the gun his brother transferred to Voudhivong and later recovered at the scene.  He too is a convicted felon after a deferred judgement on a Fraudulent Purchase of a Firearm was issued this past November.

A warrant was issued on June 7th; Poole Jr. was booked into the Johnson County Jail early Monday morning.

Poole Jr. was charged with Prohibited Transfer of a Firearm to an Unauthorized Person, and Dominion or Control of a Firearm by a Felon.  If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
