Iowa City Police have arrested an armed subject they say was involved in a fight in downtown Iowa City.

Officers were called to a physical altercation near the intersection of Burlington and Clinton Streets just after 11:45 Saturday night. One of the suspects, 22-year-old Jonathan Luten of 21st Avenue Place in Coralville, was reportedly found to be in possession of a backpack that contained pills suspected to be ecstasy inside a clear plastic bag. Also inside the backpack was reportedly a glock handgun, along with Luten’s driver’s license and wallet.

Luten was arrested and charged with Person Ineligible to Carry Weapons and Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
