A Johnson County Jail inmate faces charges that he intentionally broke the window of his cell.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Laron Johnson of Pondview Court became irate while being held in Cell Block H and began kicking the window of his cell door. The window broke and will require $1,000 to replace.

Johnson is charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of two years in jail.

Johnson is awaiting an August 8th trial on a 2nd Degree Burglary charge after he allegedly acted as a lookout as another subject reportedly stole a woman’s purse from her car parked outside the Westwinds Drive Fareway on May 1st.
