Police located 31-year-old James Sandry of South Lucas Street at the intersection of Dubuque and Washington Streets just before 2 am Thursday. Upon stopping and searching him, Sandry was reportedly in possession of three dime-sized bags of cocaine.
A subsequent search of Sandry’s apartment allegedly turned up 12 ½ grams of cocaine, packaging material, and digital scales. He also reportedly admitted to having around a half ounce of the drug in his apartment.
Sandry was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class C controlled substance violation, and failure to affix tax stamp. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 16 years in prison.
