An Iowa City man was arrested late Wednesday night after allegedly getting into an altercation with four people downtown and brandishing a firearm at them.

Police say 26-year-old Benjamin Fink of Iowa Avenue was outside Bo James on East Washington Street while four other people were across the street by Insomnia Cookies at around 11:30 pm.  A verbal altercation reportedly ensued, leading Fink to walk across the street to confront them.

The individuals ran away from Fink, who then allegedly chased after them through the Ped Mall and into the Ped Mall Alley.  While chasing them, Fink reportedly had a firearm in his hand and extended his arm towards the victims.

Fink was arrested and charged with four counts of Assault While Displaying A Dangerous Weapon, each an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to eight years in prison.
