A Coralville woman faces possible jail time after being picked up on drug and weapon charges.

29-year-old Tanicka Walton of Holiday Court was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle she owns as it was pulled over for a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 6 East and Broadway Street in Iowa City Wednesday evening just after 10 o’clock.  During a probable cause search, officers allegedly found a quantity of marijuana in a bag at Walton’s feet. On top of that bag was another bag that reportedly contained a semi-automatic handgun.

Walton allegedly admitted to being a marijuana user and said that she had smoked the day before.

Walton was arrested and charged with marijuana possession and Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons. If convicted on both counts, she could be sentenced to up to two years in jail.
