An apartment fire in Cedar Rapids Tuesday afternoon led to two residents being displaced.

In a release from the CRFD, crews were notified at around 5:30pm of a possible apartment fire on the 70 block of Miller Avenue Southwest. Arriving firefighters found light smoke in the hallway, and located the fire in a single apartment bedroom. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews accounted for all residents as they ventilated the structure to remove the smoke. Moderate fire and water damage was localized to the room of origin.

No one was home at the time of the incident; the occupants, two adult males, have been displaced. The remaining residents were able to return to their apartments.

Smoke alarms were working at the time of the incident, which remains under investigation.
