A North Liberty man wanted on a warrant for failing to appear for a probation revocation was arrested early Saturday after allegedly found intoxicated.
45-year-old Joshua Vance reportedly was observed staggering badly down the sidewalk near his home around 2am. He sat on a step outside his house when an officer contacted him due to his having the warrant. Vance attempted to go inside his residence despite repeated commands to stop. Vance reportedly replied, “Nope,” then went inside.
A roommate talked to officers, as Vance was in the basement. He would verbally respond, but repeatedly refused to exit the residence. Police eventually had to go inside to arrest him.
Vance was charged with Public Intoxication and Interference with Official Acts, both simple misdemeanors. He could spend up to 60 days in jail if convicted on both counts.
