Two IMCC inmates accused of assaulting guard in separate cases

Two inmates at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville are accused of assaulting guards in separate cases.

The first incident was reported on February 28th, when 39-year-old Nathan Bell allegedly threatened to stab multiple correctional officers with a pen. One officer was reportedly punched five times in the face, while another was allegedly punched once.

On March 11th, 55-year-old IMCC inmate Terry Bass allegedly punched a guard in the face and threw water on her.

Both Bell and Bass are charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations. If convicted, they each face a maximum of one additional year behind bars.
