Former Iowa Hawkeye Jordan Bohannon has filed a suit against the Iowa State football player who was found guilty of assaulting him back in 2021.
31-year-old Nicholas Kron of Nashville, Tennessee entered a guilty plea in March. On Thursday, Judge Jason Burns gave Kron, who played defensive end for the Cyclones in 2011 and 2012, a deferred judgment. The judge put him on probation, and ordered him to serve 100 hours of community service.
On May 23rd of 2021, Kron and Bohannon were reportedly arguing outside of DC’s on the Ped Mall after it had closed for the night. According to police, Kron sucker-punched Bohannon three times in the back of the head, knocking him down and causing a cut.
Video of the incident shows Bohannon was turned away from Kron at the time the punches were thrown.
Bohannon was removed from the scene by three friends and taken to a local hospital for treatment. UI officials would later say Bohannon suffered a “serious head injury”.
Bohannon filed suit against Kron that July, but it was dismissed in January 2022. Court records now show Bohannon is suing Kron for the incident, seeking an unknown amount of money for injuries and damages.
