Cedar Rapids woman charged after damaging equipment at Iowa City apartment office

A Cedar Rapids woman was arrested Monday evening after frustration with an Iowa City apartment complex’s staff allegedly escalated to her destroying office equipment.

According to the police report, 23-year-old Rayanna Haslett-Tomova of 29th Street Drive Southeast was at the offices of the Quarters on Highway 6 East at around 6:30 when she became frustrated with personnel. She then allegedly poured Smirnoff alcohol on two company Dell laptop computers and on an office phone.

Damage to the computers and the phone was estimated at $2050.

Haslett-Tomova was arrested and charged with 2nd degree Criminal Mischief, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
