The executive director of the Iowa City Downtown District has been tapped as the head of a newly merged business development partnership.
In a release from the entities, The Boards of Directors of the Iowa City Area Business Partnership and Iowa City Area Development will formally merge on July 1.
The Press-Citizen reports that the board voted Nancy Bird as the new CEO and President of the merged entity on Thursday. Bird has been executive director of the Iowa City Downtown District for the last 10 years.
Bird will begin her new role next month and will be overseeing the process of naming the new organization.
