An Iowa City man had an interesting alibi when found inside a home Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred just after 3:30pm at the Scott Boulevard residence of the victim. 46-year-old Louis Church of Southgate Avenue was found inside, and reportedly said he was told telepathically by the victim’s daughter to go there and to bring a few bikes.
Church allegedly admitted to drug use and police said that he appeared to be high on meth.
A warrant was issued for Church’s arrest on Sunday; he was taken into custody early Tuesday morning. He’s been charged with 3rd degree Burglary, a Class D Felony. If convicted, Church could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
