A construction project will close Amana Road from U.S. Hwy. 965 to Greencastle Avenue, beginning Monday, to allow contractors to raise the road elevation to address flooding issues.
The project is expected to be completed mid to late summer, weather permitting.
While the road construction is underway, the shooting and archery ranges at the Hawkeye Wildlife Area will be closed.
Steve Woodruff, wildlife biologist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Iowa River Unit, said anyone violating the shooting moratorium during the reconstruction will be cited.
