Wayland man accused of leading sheriff’s deputies on 34 minute chase through Johnson County

A Henry County man faces charges that he led Johnson County deputies on an over half-hour chase Saturday night.

According to arrest records, just before 9:15pm officers attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of 500th Street and Highway 1, just east of Frytown. The suspect’s vehicle was a 2013 Chevy Silverado which had an improper rear lamp.  The driver reportedly refused to pull over, despite the officer activating his lights and siren.

The ensuing police chase lasted 34 minutes and wound its way through rural Johnson County. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Issaac Danker of Wayland, is charged with Eluding, Driving Without a Valid License and Improper Rear Lamps. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
