A North Liberty man is accused of jumping from a tree to attack a passing bicyclist with a metal fence post.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, just before 1am on April 23rd 33-year-old Tylor Hogan of the Holiday Lodge manufactured housing community was hiding in some trees on Alyssa Court near Escort Lane and Naples Avenue in Iowa City when he jumped the victim as he rode by on his bicycle. Hogan allegedly used a metal fence post to strike the victim in the side and leg, causing injury. He then reportedly used the fence post to strike the bicycle, causing minor damage.

Hogan is charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury and 5th Degree Criminal Mischief. if convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of over five years in prison.
