Allegedly damaging vehicles at two different locations early Sunday morning has led to criminal mischief charges against an Iowa City man.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Modern Manor manufactured housing community on Scott Boulevard around midnight after a victim reported two of his motorcycles had been pushed over in his driveway. Also, nine of the man’s house windows had been shattered from the outside. Total damage was estimated at $6,000. Witnesses reported seeing 21-year-old Laron Johnson leaving the scene.

Iowa City Police were then called to Johnson’s nearby Pond View Court residence just before 12:15am after he allegedly shattered the windshield and front right passenger side window of a 2007 Chevy Impala with Alabama plates that was parked outside.

The car’s owner and another witness named Johnson as the suspect, saying he admitted to doing it. Williams was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief and 4th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of six years in prison.
