Police have arrested a man they say intentionally disrupted traffic in downtown Iowa City.

Arrest records indicate 35-year-old Todd Brodie of Taylor Drive had been standing in traffic at the intersection of Gilbert and Burlington Streets just before 2:45 Saturday morning. He was reportedly intentionally trying to get hit by passing vehicles.

Arriving officers found Brodie standing in the northbound lanes of Gilbert Street, facing and obstructing oncoming traffic.  He was removed from the roadway and arrested for Disorderly Conduct – Obstructing a Street or Sidewalk. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
