Iowa City man among those injured in fatal accident near the Quad Cities

An Iowa City man was among those injured in an accident that killed a tow truck operator near the Quad Cities early Monday.

The Iowa State Patrol released the names of the vicitmsd onm Tuesday. The agency reports that a bus broken down on the shoulder near westbound mile marker 302 was being assisted by a tow truck just after 2 am. A 2015 Jeep then hit the tow operator, who was not in a vehicle at the time. He has been identified as 52-year-old Mark Muske of Davenport.

It has not been determined who was driving the Jeep; its occupants, 43-year-old Darvell Miller of Iowa City and 27-year-old Morgan Miller of Chicago, were transported by ambulance to Trinity Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The incident remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
