The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Red Flag Warning for the listening area due to dry conditions.
Strong southwest winds, gusting between 30 to 35 miles per hour, unseasonably warm temperatures, very low relative humidity, and dried vegetation are all factors contributing to extreme fire weather conditions. Warm, dry and windy conditions will bring about more very high to extreme fire danger on Thursday.
Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning. If a wild fire begins or a brush pile is lit, the fires have the potential to spread rapidly and quickly become uncontrollable.
