There are several area organizations who are just dying to feed you today. Here’s a list of events and times:

6:00 am: Kalona Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Day
 Serving until 1pm at the fire station; pancakes, sausage and eggs, all you can eat. Free will donation. Proceeds go to the purchase of a new Pumper/Tanker

6:30 am: Iowa City Athletic Booster Club Pancake Day
Serving until 2pm at West High School Cafeteria on Melrose Avenue. Tickets $5 apiece. Proceeds help support student athletes, coaches and programs at City, West and Liberty High Schools, as well as North Central, Northwest, and South East Junior High schools. Over 3500 students participate in school sports programs.

7:30 am: Agape Cafe 30th Anniversary breakfast fundraiser
Serving until 11:30 am at Old Brick Church, 26 East Market Street in Iowa City. Free will donation, featuring pancakes, Eggs Benedict, home fries, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs your way, Cafe del Sol coffee, all cooked as ordered. This non-profit offers free breakfast every Wednesday to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

8:00 am:  St. Wenceslaus Parish Spring Bake Sale
 Offering Kolaches, cinnamon rolls and other bakery items until 11am at the Parish Hall, 630 E Davenport Street, Iowa City. Complimentary coffee will be served.

11:00 am: Solon High School Empty Bowls
Luncheon to end hunger until 1pm in the Solon High School commons. Soup provided by local restaurants, including bread. Guests can keep their ceramic bowl, hand-made by a local student, educator or community member.  Suggested donation $10. All monies raised go to the CommUnity Crisis Services Food Bank and the Solon Food Pantry.

5:00 pm: Solon American Legion Lenten Shrimp and Fish Fry
Postponed yesterday due to the storm. $16 all you can eat Hake cod, shrimp, cheesy potatoes, cole slaw, bread and dessert; kids 5-12 $10, under 5 eat free. Proceeds go to the good work the Legion does for vets and area kids. On Main Street in Solon until 7 pm.

5:30 pm: Coralville 4th Fest Basket Auction
At Brown Deer Golf Club, doors open at 4:30. Silent and live auction of baskets filled with gift certificates, specialty items, artwork, crafts, outings, sporting goods, tools and more, provided by area merchants and donors. All funds raised benefit Coralville’s 4th Fest, and they will announce the act playing the free 4th Fest Concert in S.T. Morrison Park. Event is free and open to public; doors open at 4:30 with food and drink available for purchase. 

6:00 pm: Coralville Global Community Meal
This event was supposed to take place on Friday but due to the severe weather was postponed to Saturday night at the same location, the Coralville Public Library. Free meal served until 8pm.
