An area radio station is scrambling to get back on the air after their broadcast tower blew over during Friday’s heavy winds.

KKRQ-FM, also known as 100.7 The Fox, posted pictures on their Facebook page of the downed tower to explain why listeners are only hearing static on their frequency. According to the post, they’re working on a temporary transmitter to get them by until their main tower is replaced.

KCJJ’s towers are still intact; however, the power poles leading to the station were snapped during the storm, leaving us without power until Eastern Iowa REC crews restored it Saturday night.
