Changes are coming to multiple local convenience store locations.
A sign on the door of the Mormon Trek Boulevard Delimart indicates at least some locations have been sold and will close on Sunday, only to reopen days later as Casey’s General Stores. There is no indication if all of the current Iowa City-area Delimart stores will be making the conversion.
Earlier this week the Kum & Go corporation permanently closed its location at the corner of Burlington and Madison Streets. Company officials say the location did not conform to its new standards to include fresh food and an on-site kitchen. In recent years other Iowa City Kum & Go stores have either been remodeled or rebuilt to the new standards, including the locations on Riverside Drive, Muscatine Avenue and South Gilbert Street.
The company says there are no current plans to close any other Iowa City Kum & Go locations.
