Three people were killed in a wrong-way accident on Interstate 80 late Friday night.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2014 Volkswagen and a 2014 Chevy collided near the Walcott exit at approximately 11:15pm. Three people were killed. One was taken to a Quad Cities hospital with unspecified injuries.
The State Patrol says the crash happened in the eastbound inside lane, but it was initially unable to determine which vehicle was travelling the wrong way down the interstate.
The investigation is ongoing. The victim’s identities have not yet been released.
