An Iowa City transient who has a laundry list of car burglary convictions has allegedly been caught in the act once again.

Iowa City Police say 21-year-old Jeiden Fair was caught trying the doors of parked cars on the 1400 block of Plum Street just after noon on Wednesday. Fair allegedly entered one unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway and stole change.

Police say they found two glass pipes with marijuana residue on Fair’s person after he was taken into custody.

Fair is charged with 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle – 2nd or Subsequent offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of over five years in prison.

Fair has had multiple previous car burglary and theft convictions. Just last month he was arrested after allegedly burglarizing a vehicle on Paddock Circle. A trial date in that case has not yet been set.
