A Shelter House resident has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman who have him a ride to get some food.

The arrest report indicates that the woman, along with her minor child, gave Kaden Leech a ride to a nearby gas station for something to eat. Afterwards, the woman drove Leech back to Shelter House. She told him to get out of the vehicle, but he allegedly refused to do so and started grabbing the woman.

She was able to get out of the vehicle and again told him to get out of the vehicle, but Leech refused. The woman then tried to physically remove him from the vehicle, during which Leech reportedly took her phone and refused to give it back.

The struggle got more physical when the woman  grabbed Leech and kneed him in the midsection. Leech reportedly responded by throwing her to the ground and kicking the rear passenger taillight, causing it to break.

Arriving officers ordered Leech to stop, but he ran away. Once caught, police say he had a baggie of marijuana on his person.

The woman victim complained of pain and told officers she feared Leech would assault her again.

Leech was charged with Assault causing Bodily Injury, 5th degree Criminal Mischief, and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted on all counts, Leech could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail. A no-contact order was requested between the two parties.
