ICPD: Man found unconscious outside apartment building had cocaine in his possession

Iowa City Police say a man found passed out outside an apartment building earlier this week had cocaine in his possession.

First responders descended on 125 North Van Buren Street just after 7:30pm on Valentine’s Day for a report of an unconscious male.

A search of the subject’s person reportedly turned up two small baggies of cocaine in his wallet. The man was identified as a resident of the building, 47-year-old Frank Davis.

Once awakened, Davis reportedly told police he passed out after snorting cocaine.

Davis is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2^nd Offense. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
