A pair of Iowa City residents were taken into custody after a search warrant of a residence they share turned up evidence of marijuana distribution.
According to Iowa City Police, officers executed a search warrant on the Danielle Street residence of 38-year-old Terry Williams Jr. and 34-year-old Danielle Williams on the evening of January 26th in reference to an ongoing drug investigation.
During the search, officers reportedly located approximately 271 grams of marijuana, a large scale, various packaging material commonly used to distribute marijuana, and about $3000 cash in the Williams’ bedroom. A review of Ms. Williams’ phone found the two allegedly conspired to distribute pot over the last several months. Mr. Williams reportedly admitted to being involved in the sale of marijuana.
Warrants were requested on Williams Jr. on February 3rd and Danielle Williams on Feburary 14th. The two were booked at the Johnson County Jail the next morning. The couple faces a Controlled Substance Violation, a Tax Stamp violation, and Keeping Premises for Controlled Substances. If convicted on all charges, the two could be sentenced to up to twelve years in prison.
