Two more arrests have been made in connection with a Tiffin attempted murder case.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday 20-year-old ZaShawn Smith of Coralville was charged with Attempted Murder and Rioting. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. A 17-year-old arrested on Monday was charged with Rioting.
The pair are the latest individuals to be charged in a case that authorities say involved a car full of subjects chasing another vehicle down Highway 6 in Tiffin last October, with a 17-year-old reportedly firing a gun at the other car at least six times near the Park Road roundabout.
Eight other individuals ranging in age from 17 to 21 years old were also charged with Rioting. Those names can be found under an earlier version of this story here.
The 17-year-old who allegedly fired the gun was charged with Attempted Murder.
Also charged was 22-year-old Glenda Reighard of Tiffin. She allegedly purchased a handgun in Coralville on October 2nd for one of those arrested because they were unable to purchase it on their own due to their age. She faces additional charges of providing False Information to acquire a Weapon, and Transfer of a Pistol or Revolver to Person under 21. Reighard could be sentenced to up to 11 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
