The Coralville man sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a man inside the Taboo Nightclub in Cedar Rapids this spring is appealing his conviction to the Iowa Supreme Court.

29-year-old Dimione Walker was convicted by a jury in less than 90 minutes in November. He was found guilty of first degree murder, going armed with intent and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Walker was sentenced to life in prison without parole on December 16th.

Walker filed notice of appeal this week, within the 30 day window after his sentence date.

The other man facing charges in the shooting is 33-year-old Timothy Rush. He’s accused of killing his 35-year-old girlfriend, Nicole Owens. A second victim, 31-year-old Marvin Cox, died weeks later from his injuries. Rush is set to go to trial March 28th.
