Officials in Poweshiek County are investigating a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours Thursday in Grinnell.
KCRG TV reports that the incident occurred at approximately 1:40 am in a residential area just west of downtown. Investigators say several adults were engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. Officials say a handgun was produced and then multiple shots were fired.
A man was struck by the gunfire and taken to a local hospital, where he reportedly was in stable condition. Grinnell Police are investigating the incident, with assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
