A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested on charges of having sexual contact with three underage girls between 2014 and 2021.

30-year-old Silas Paul Griffin was arrested Wednesday on a warrant stemming from the incidents, which police say started when he abused one girl multiple times when she was under 12 years of age between 2014 and 2017. The other two incidents took place in 2021, when Griffin allegedly abused the girls, believed to be between 10 and 11 years old, and 12 and 13 years old.

Authorities have charged Griffin with four counts of 2nd degree sexual abuse, two counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse, two counts of lascivious behavior with a child, and two counts of indecent contact with a child. If convicted on all charges, Griffin could be sentenced to a maximum of 134 years in prison.

He is currently being held without bond in the Linn County Correctional Center, awaiting his first court appearance.
