Trial has been delayed for a North Liberty man facing murder charges in Benton County.

39-year-old Tacoa Talley of Prairie Ridge Road was set to stand trial starting on Monday. But on Friday, Judge Chad Kepros pushed that date back to February 6th.

Talley is charged with murdering Jodie Bevans of Palo. An alleged accomplice, 34-year-old Samantha Faith Bevans, also of Palo, is also charged in the case.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Jodie Bevans was found unresponsive in her 64th Street residence on July 15th.  Her death was ruled a homicide.

Talley and Samantha Faith Bevans have each been charged with 1st Degree Murder. If convicted, they each face life in prison with no chance of parole.

On Friday, Kepros set Talley’s case management conference for January 20th.
