An Iowa City man has been arrested after allegedly fondling and sexually abusing a woman this summer.

Police say the incident occurred in the city on June 28th. 19-year-old Quaymarion Rowan of Sterling Drive was allegedly outside a residence when he contacted the victim on social media and told her to come outside. She went outside to tell him to leave, but Rowan began touching her and trying to kiss her against her will.

When she tried to leave the situation, Rowan reportedly pushed her inside the house, causing her to hit her head twice. He also allegedly grabbed her neck making it hard for her to breathe as he continued the assault.

The victim grabbed her phone and was able to record some of the incident, during which she is repeatedly telling Rowan that he needs to go.

A warrant was issued for Rowan’s arrest on October 28th; he was taken into custody Thursday morning and charged with 3rd degree Sexual Abuse, a Class C Felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years if convicted.
