A Cedar Rapids family is getting a turn in the spotlight today in an appearance on a national TV game show.
City Councilor Pat Loeffler and his family will be on Family Feud, which can be seen on Fox 28 weekdays from 5-6pm. The Loeffler family appearance will be during the 5:30 episode.
Loeffler, his wife Kymm, daughters Bri and Alyssa and son Jordan, who appeared on the show, are hosting a watch party this afternoon starting at 5 at the Double Z Bar and Grill.
Loeffler said his wife applied to be on the show in 2014, leading to auditions and interviews that took them to Chicago in 2016. They were in line to be on the show, but the pandemic happened and delayed their opportunity. The family went to Atlanta to tape the show in May. They had to sign nondisclosure agreements and have been unable to tell anyone how they did on the show.
