A North Liberty man was taken into custody after threatening a former co-worker earlier in the month.
According to the arrest report, 26-year-old Alan Joynes of Kansas Avenue previously worked at the Car-X location on Waterfront Drive. He went there the morning of October 7th, entered the auto-shop area and began threatening a former co-worker. Joynes allegedly called the victim vulgar names and threatened to assault them. He reportedly got within striking distance of the victim and lunged twice at them, placing them in fear.
Joynes also reportedly previously threatened to pay another individual and have the victim shot or assaulted.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Joynes was taken into custody on Friday night. He’s been charged with 2nd degree Harassment and simple assault. If convicted on the two charges, Joynes could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail. A no-contact order was requested by the victim.
