Hawkeye alum Luka Garza has signed a new contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
That’s according to The Athletic, which reports the 2021 NCAA National Player of the Year will have his current Exhibit 10 contract converted into a new two-way contract. Under the terms of the deal, Garza would spend most of the season with the Timberwolves’ G-League team in Des Moines. Garza would be unable to play more than 45 days with the parent club, if needed.
The All-American center impressed the Timberwolves by averaging 7.3 points per game in the preseason, including hitting 2/3s of his three-point shots.
Garza became a free-agent in August when Detroit declined to pick up its option for a second season.
